How to change an iAgent computer name and/or Description via registry or iManager
You can control what the system name should be based on the value
of the following 2 registry keys:
They are both String values and when the appear on the iManager display they
will appear concatenated as follows :
So if for example you want to show on the display on the iManager
Then you would apply the following registry settings :
indows Registry Editor Version 5.00
This should SOLVE the problem you were having regarding to the
display name which appear on the new Windows 10 machines that
you sent us a screen shot.
Please connect to each iAgent, apply the new registry name that
will uniquely identifiy each computer, and then stop
and RESTART the iAgent on the computer so that it will know
to RE-READ the registry settings.
Next time you connect with the iAgent the settings will have changed.
A SECOND AN EASIER WAY TO CHANGE THE SETTINGS IS TO DO
THE FOLLOWING :
1- From the iManager right click on the iAgent what you want to change
the vnchostname AND vnchostdesc
2- Select iAgent Settings
3- You will see on the first page on the right hand panel a place where to
Computer Name ( which is the vnchostname registry entry )
Computer Description ( which is the vnchostdesc registry entry ).
4- Just change them to what you like them to be and select the

immediately on the iManager list.
